Happening in Thailand Anti-prostitution Social Movement Project

Goal of the Project

The project will create advocacy initiatives and bolster the anti-prostitution movement in Thailand through the dissemination of shareable online information and media, as well as physical books and merchandise.

Summary of the Project

The aim of the project is to tackle the issues surrounding the legalization and decriminalization of prostitution and raise awareness among the population about the negative impacts of such policies on society and individuals as a whole. This will be achieved by initiating, developing, and supporting the anti-prostitution movement in Thailand through the distribution of easy-to-understand information via various channels, including the internet, websites, social media, NFTs, printed media, and merchandise.

Target Area and Beneficiaries

Anti-prostitution advocates, as well as individuals in society at large who desire to live in a community free of all forms of prostitution, are committed to ending the practice.

Project Ideas

Proposed Idea

The internet has emerged as a major influencer of our thoughts, ideas, and opinions about society and everything in our surroundings. With the ability for anyone to publish and share information on websites, blogs, and social media platforms, technology has ushered in a new era of information exchange unlike anything in human history.

However, with this freedom comes a downside. As there are no barriers to entry, anyone can publish or share information regardless of their qualifications or true intentions. As a result, the internet has become rife with misleading information and fallacious arguments. Social media platforms are awash with fabricated proposals and arguments on almost every topic, including prostitution.

Currently, people and organizations that support prostitution for their own secret needs and agendas are gathering on social media to influence and stimulate society to accept acts that demean human value and dignity.

Numerous movements supporting prostitution have been led by advocates, including punters, porn enthusiasts, prostitutes, and pimps. Euphemisms such as "sex worker" and "sex creator" are employed to rebrand prostitution and achieve the goal of legalizing and decriminalizing the practice. Misleading statements such as "sex work is work" are used to create a sense of legitimacy and freedom for prostitution to be conducted openly and legally. These messages obscure the hidden facts and intentions of prostitution propaganda, which can lure unsuspecting individuals, including children and adolescents, into prostitution.

This project is aimed at fighting corrupt authorities who take bribes and exploit individuals involved in prostitution. It aims to educate the public about the dangers of euphemisms and fallacious claims made by prostitution advocates by creating easily digestible content such as posters, images, graphic novels, comics, guidebooks, e-books, interactive content, and games distributed on websites and social media platforms. Progress updates will be provided on the website to encourage social engagement and foster meaningful change in society.

Advocacy campaigns

The WatchBirds Project

The WatchBirds Project aims to uncover instances of active prostitution that are being ignored by the government and authorities, and report them to the appropriate agencies. Updates on the response and progress towards resolving the issue will be provided on the project's website and social media platforms.

The Better Standard of Living in Thailand campaign

The "Better Standard of Living in Thailand" campaign is dedicated to urging the government to stop relying on the prostitution industry for its GDP and to start improving working conditions and income to allow its citizens to live with dignity. A significant proportion of prostitutes in Thailand are coerced, either directly or indirectly, into the industry due to poverty, unethical social values, financial hardships, and other social problems. It is crucial for the government to reform the country's economic structure and create a better work environment to improve the quality of life and standard of living of its citizens.

Why Prostitution Should Not be Supported campaign

The "Why Prostitution Should Not be Supported" campaign aims to create easily understandable media for children, adolescents, and the general public regarding the detrimental effects of legalizing and decriminalizing prostitution. The media formats will include online images, articles, graphic novels, comics, interactive content, e-books, books, and games.

Anti-prostitution merchandise

Merchandise can help create social awareness and attract new supporters and advocates for a project. This merchandise includes items such as T-shirts, tote bags, caps, jackets, mugs, keychains, and others. The merchandise will be produced with character themes and made available for purchase to support the project. This funding and promotion through publicity will help to raise awareness and support for the cause.

Anti-prostitution NFT

NFTs (non-fungible tokens) provide a unique opportunity for supporters to demonstrate their backing for digital art and the creator or project behind it. These NFTs will be made available for purchase to individuals who wish to support and promote the project in the digital realm.
